Viva (2012) for solo violin was commissioned by violinist Vadim Gluzman, who gave the world premiere at the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall in Costa Mesa, California on February 23, 2012. This tour de force for solo violin unfolds as catchy polytonal musical riffs are layered and phrased in devilish grooves, which “set the soul on fire.”
